NEW SMYRNA BEACH MOOSE FAMILY CENTER 1835/1515

COMMUNITY SERVICE IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR COMMITTMENT TO BEING A MEMBER OF THE LOYAL ORDER OF MOOSE. MOOSE MEMBERS BELIEVE IN SHARING WITH THE COMMUNITY AND HELPING WHEN EVER POSSIBLE. THE MEN AND WOMEN OF LOOM 1835 AND WOTM 1515 HAVE BEEN AND REMAIN DEDICATED TO THE COMMUNITIES THEY LIVE IN.

Some of the services our members have been active in are:

The Annual Chowder Contest which has raised over $4,900 this year and over $100,000.00 in the past years. This money is dedicated to the Sheriff's youth ranch. Our members have donated numerous hours at this function and during the Sheriff's Youth Ranch cleanup and repair projects.

There are members involved with Meals on Wheels and have spent many hours to this endeavor.

Some have volunteers to help at the local SPCA.

Another community service project our members are involved in is the Relay for Life.

There are those members who contribute and help at Good Will and Habitat for Humanity.

Each year the men and women of the Family Center collect foods for those in need during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Members have assisted the local SPCA with donations and help.

Aluminum Cans are collected and the monies earned  are donated to the Hacienda Community Veterans Group.

There have been times throughout the year when a family in need comes to the membership and requests assistance.  These people are never turned away.

Scholarships are given each year  to  deserving local high school students.

An annual BBQ is held at the Emory Bennett Veteran's Home where members volunteer their time and money to make it a great day for our Vet's.

The men of  LOOM 1835 and WOTM 1515  take their community service very serious and continue to involve themselves in other community services as they arise. We stress upon every member the importance of involving themselves in their communities and the services they can offer. If you think your are performing a community service and we havent listed it, contact the lodge Administrator and let your service be counted.
